Manitou Springs Carnivale Festival
Manitou Springs is well-known for its odd, quirky and highly entertaining annual festivals, and one of my favorites is the Manitou Carnivale parade that happens in early February. A spin-off of the Mardi Gras festival, live entertainment is usually offered on Saturday afternoon and evening in the three major bar & grills in town: The Keg, The Ancient Mariner and The Roadhouse Bar & Grill. In the morning, there is a mumbo-gumbo cookoff competition, and the grand daddy of it all is the afternoon parade!
I snapped this photo of the hippies banging their drums from the 2004 parade. I love this photo! -Steve :)
